Discovering that the antelope was running, the leopard immediately jumped up from the ground to catch its prey, but perhaps the nearly 2m long horn was the talisman that saved the antelope’s life.

Specifically, while on a tour, Steve Jacobson’s tour guide discovered a leopard lurking on a hill.

The recorded clip shows that the prowling hunter suddenly crouched low and waited for the prey to come. When the antelope ran close, the leopard immediately jumped up from the ground and pounced on its prey. After the missed pounce, it quickly chased down the antelope and ended the hunt.

Steve said: “It was an absolutely amazing sight. I’ve seen other safaris but nothing like this before. We were lucky to be on time.” right place and time. Unfortunately for the antelope”.

Leopards (Panthera pardus) are one of four species of big cats in the genus Panthera that live in Africa and Asia. They are from 1 to nearly 2 meters long, weighing 30 – 90 kg. Females are usually about 2/3 the size of males. Although smaller in size than other big cats, leopards are formidable predators.

They often hunt in ambush and will camouflage when stalking their prey. This helps them get close to their prey and then attack without spending a lot of energy chasing it.
