The eagle cut open the venomous snake’s stomach and then tore it apart and “devoured it alive” in the middle of the road

The horrifying moment a snake eagle ripped out the internal organs and then tore into the body of a venomous snake in Kruger National Park.

The recorded video shows the eagle catching a poisonous snake. The snake could not resist and lay flat on the ground. However, eagles do not kill their prey immediately. It was confident and arrogant, holding the snake tightly with its extremely sharp and sturdy claws.

Then, the eagle lowered its head and used its sharp beak to pull out the snake’s intestines. After eating all the internal organs, it tore into the snake’s body one by one, extremely cruelly, and flew away with half its tail without venom.

Venom glands are concentrated in the head of the snake. The remaining half of the snake’s body was thrown on the road. When Mitchley returned the next day, he saw no trace of the snake and speculated that some scavenger had cleaned up the remaining meat.

“Even though many people both hate and fear snakes, this is really a death that is both painful and long,” he said.

Snake-eating eagles mainly live in the central area of Kruger, often eating snakes, mambas, boomslangs and grass snakes. They also eat geckos and other small mammals.
