Thinking that he could devour the prey called antelope, the lion unexpectedly felt bitter

Even though the lion bit its throat, the wildebeest still tried to struggle to find a way to live.

During this hunting trip, the lion caught a wildebeest. With survival instincts, antelopes try to struggle and find ways to escape the predator’s teeth. However, at the end of the clip, the ungulate is still bitten on the neck by the lion.

Like other cats, lions are superb predators and are key apex predators thanks to their abundant prey populations.

Their main prey are mammals, especially medium to large ungulates including plains zebra, blue wildebeest, African buffalo, Gemsbok antelope, giraffes, adult hippos, and even sub-adult African bush elephants.

When hunting alone, they kill their prey by biting the neck to break the neck or damage the blood circulation system. When hunting in groups, lions can hold down large prey while other animals bite the neck or suffocate the prey by locking the victim’s muzzle, not allowing it to breathe.
